I AM JEEKA KUDLUK

At the age of 22, Jeeka Kudluk, an Inuk from Kangirsuq (Quebec), left his familly for a two-month expedition led by a British prospector. Unprepared, they nearly died trying to find the precious minerals. This is his recollection of events.

An offshoot of a larger documentary on mining in Nunavik (set for release in fall 2024), this short film highlights Jeeka’s story, exploring the complex relationship between Nunavik’s Inuit and prospectors arriving in their territory in search of minerals.
